Term 3 library news

New Library Books

MSOTA library has just received some fantastic new library books. These books were purchased with a grant made to the school by BHP Billiton. We are very grateful for this gift to the school library, and hope that you all enjoy reading these wonderful books when they come your way.

All of these new books will have a ‘donated by BHP Billiton’ acknowledgement placed inside the cover, so look out for one in your next library bag.

These books were donated by BHP Billiton.

The Japan Foundation has also recently donated some books and toys to our school library.  These are wonderful resources to look at if you are studying Japanese or if you just have an interest in this country. Please phone or email me in the library if you would like further information.

These books were donated by The Japan Foundation.

Each year, The Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) produces a shortlist of books competing for the prestigious award of 'The Children's Book Council of Australia Book of the Year'.

There are 5 categories of books: Book of the Year - Older Readers, Book of the Year - Younger Readers, Book of the Year - Early Childhood, Picture Book of the Year and The Eve Pownall Award for Information Books. The winners from each category will be announced on Friday 21st August.

The Children's Book Council of Australia's book  week then runs from 22nd August until 28th August with the theme this year being Book Safari.

MSOTA library has copies of all of the books on the CBCA 2009 shortlist in the categories of Younger Readers, Early Childhood and Picture Books. So why not start your reading expedition, and request one of the following books be sent to you.
